I didn’t say that. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said that.
Jensen Huang pointed out that AI is a five-layer cake: energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications.
Energy: China has twice as much energy as the US.
Chips: The US is generations ahead of China. But a semiconductor is a manufacturing process. Anyone who thinks China can't manufacture is missing a big idea.
Infrastructure: In the US, you need three years to build a data center. China can build a hospital in a weekend.
Models: The US is six months ahead of China. But most models are open source, and China is way ahead in open source.
Applications: In China, 80% of people would say AI would do more good than harm; in the US, it’s the other way around.
Jensen Huang also pointed out: Nine out of the 10 top science and technology schools in the world are now in China; 50% of the world's AI researchers are Chinese; 70% of last year's AI patents are published by China.
I think the AI race is just Chinese in the US competing with Chinese in China. No matter what—Chinese win.
